I work from home so my list might be a little odd.
But there certainly are things that annoy me about working form home and about doing transcription work.
- Laundry
There is always laundry to be done and my desk has a nice view of the laundry room! - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
When you type for as many hours a day I always have flare ups if I’m not being careful. - Lack of interaction
Working from home limits the number of adults I actually interact with on a regular basis. - Sitting, sitting and more sitting
I sit at my desk and type and type and click and type some more. Needless to say that I have to make sure I hit the treadmill hard when I’m not working - Clients
I realize without my clients I would have no work. But do they have to eat, sniffle, chew, etc. while they are dictating. It is like getting paid to listen to somebody scratch their fingernails on a chalkboard. - Stereotypes
If I say I’m a Stay-at-home mom people assume i just sit and eat bon-bons all day. If I say I am a Work-at-home mom people assume I “play” at working and just sit and eat bon-bons all day. - Taxes
Being self-employed can sometimes be a killer come tax time. Write-offs are nice but the stress and anxiety is overwhelming sometimes. - No VacationBeing self-employed there is no paid vacation, no paid sick days and no paid lunch.
- Coworkers
Ha ha, I don’t have any! Unless you consider my family my coworkers (when they’re home). I love my family but sometimes the pestering between my kids can get to me! - Work
The fact that I have to work can be annoying. Wouldn’t it be better if I could just win the lottery?!
So tell me, what would be on your list?
Thank you to Ten on Tuesday for the topic!

Rebecca,
Your list is not very different from my list of annoyances from working in the corporate world (aside from the laundry).
